  • What is the difference between psychological therapy and therapeutic yoga, and how do I know which is right for me?
Psychology sessions follow the format of traditional talk therapy. It is an interactive conversation between you and I, exploring your conscious thoughts and emotions, to the unconscious patterns and behaviours shaped by early experiences, relationships, culture and biology. A therapeutic yoga session involves time for discussion, checking in with you and your experience, active movement and/or stillness, breath-work and guided meditation to help foster a deeper relationship with your body to support a greater sense of safety and connection with oneself.
Depending on your needs, symptoms, and challenges, this can help guide what therapy may be most suited to you. However, both psychological therapy and therapeutic yoga can be beneficial for many reasons, even wanting to improve or maintain overall wellbeing. An initial consult can explore what therapy is right for you.
